AIC stands for Active Listening, Individual’s Uniqueness, Compassionate Care. Our home health agency started in 2016 with the primary goal of offering Adult and Pediatric home health services to the Bay Area and beyond.

We provide home health care to pediatric patients from 1-18 years of age. We also provide adult and elderly home health care services that will enable our patients to be safely cared for in their own homes.

Helen M. Macatangay BSN RNDirector of Patient Care Services

Helen M. Macatangay BSN RN is the Director of Patient Care Services for AIC Home Health Services, with experience in adult and pediatric nursing in acute and long-term care settings. Helen was a Pediatric ICU nurse from the Philippine Heart Center before migrating to the United States in 2000.

Helen has vast experience as a Nurse and in leadership/management including as RN Supervisor for an 80+ SNF in the East Bay, as Nursing Program Director then Director of Patient Care Services at the first freestanding hospice and palliative home in the US. She also became Assistant Department Manager at a Kaiser Medical Center in the East Bay. Helen’s first love of pediatrics brought her to Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford where she spent nearly 15 years of her bedside nursing career.

During her years at Lucile Packard, she was an active member of the Committee for Recognition of Nursing Achievement as an Area Representative, then as a member of the Negotiating Committee, the QAPI Committee, and the Value Analysis Team.

Helen also has experience managing and operating an Adult Residential Facility, Intermediate Care Facility, and Residential Care Facility for the Elderly. Helen is also certified by the State as Director of Staff Development and was also a Volunteer for the American Red Cross Contra Costa Chapter from 2007.

Helen is first and foremost a Mom to AJ, Isabelle, CJ, and Stormy the Cat and believes in self-care. In her spare time, Helen loves biking, hiking, swimming, gardening and orchids, yoga among others.

Josefina “Josie” Booker Assistant Director of Patient Care Services

Josefina “Josie” Booker is the Assistant Director of Patient Care Services for AIC Home Health Services and has experience in management, including home health and long term care. Josie had been Director of Nursing at various Skilled Nursing Facilities in the East Bay and as Director of Patient Care Services for various home health agencies in the Bay Area. Josie is a loving mom to her two children.
